NSABERS Maul SE Proffie review
A genuinely spectacular double saber with premium effects, tough blades and two usable hilts. It is not flawless, but nothing else here creates the same experience.
My verdict
Buy it for the full Darth Maul effect, excellent Proffie features and the flexibility of two separate sabers. The 36-inch blades wobbled and a pair of electronic freezes interrupted testing, but neither issue erased how much fun this was to use.

The Feature That Sold Me
Two Sabers in One
Connect both hilts for the full Maul-style staff, then separate them into two complete sabers and hand one to a friend. That is not a footnote: it is the biggest reason this saber is so much fun.

What came in the box
The package contained two metal hilts, two 36-inch polycarbonate blades, blade plugs, gloves, two USB charging cables, tools, spare O-rings, a manual and a branded display stand. The stand is genuinely useful because the complete staff is long and heavy.
Assembly and handling
The two hilts connect into one staff or run as independent sabers. That flexibility was a highlight during testing with friends and family. The ridged grips felt secure and the balance was better than the size suggests, but the full staff needs real clearance.
Both long blades developed visible wobble during the test. The small thumb screws also worked loose, with some falling out. I used medium blue threadlocker on my sample, but buyers should follow the manufacturer guidance and avoid permanent threadlocker.
Lighting, sound and controls
The Proffie configuration delivered smooth swing response, multiple colours and fonts, rainbow effects and automatic deflection. The Darksaber-style font stood out. Battery life remained strong through extended testing.
Twice, a saber became stuck on a continuous beep and stopped responding. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery recovered it. The manual and product instructions did not make a hard reset obvious, and the website guidance for volume control was unclear.
Durability after duelling
After several hours of direct blade contact, I did not find dents or meaningful blade damage. That is encouraging, but it is one sample over a limited test period, not a lifetime durability claim.
Who should buy it?
Buy it for the Maul look, the option to split it into two sabers and the rich Proffie feature set. Choose a shorter blade or a simpler single hilt if your practice area is tight. Buyers who dislike maintenance should also consider the loose screw and reset issues observed on this sample.
